Mike Silver & Maggie Boyle sing Not a Matter of Pride
Mike Silver talks about his American Tour
Satnav sent us to a very unsatisfactory destination initially, but we got there without too many detours, and Mike said we brought the good weather with us. In a lovely, off-road spot, the front of the house is laid out with wooden raised beds, made by Mike for Julie to grow their vegetables. It was so good to see him after so long, and hear him still in such fantastic voice.
I first met Mike in Bristol in 1982, having moved there with Steve Tilston. Many's the long, late musical nights we enjoyed in the house in Bishopston, along with Keith Warmington and many others. Later we were very near neighbours in Easton, though the arrival of babies somewhat scuppered the regular late nights! We both moved away from Bristol but I am happy to say that, over 30 years later, it's proved to be an enduring friendship. Yet he still had a few surprises in store, that we coaxed out of him in the interview (see bonus audio file)
